Receiving Peace in our Lives

Dove of Peace

In a class at church today, we talked about the lack of peace in the world and the importance of getting peace in our own lives since that will definitely not be the state of the world until Christ comes.

Matthew 10:34 records that Christ said:

“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.”

Because of the agency which God gave us, people have the ability to choose whether or not to obey God. Agency is not the ability to do what you want. It’s the gift given to us to prove to ourselves and God that we can hearken to the voice of the Spirit and obey God’s will.

When people choose to ignore their promptings, the Spirit eventually stops striving to get them to obey. Numerous verses discuss this and you can find them by searching in Scripture Notes for:

"past feeling" (quotes for exact match)
Spirit +striv* (asterisk is a wildcard)

When individuals harden their hearts, they lose the scant light they have “until they know nothing of the mysteries, are taken captive by the devil, and led by his will down to destruction (Alma 12:10-11).

They become despots in numerous ways according to their sphere of influence. They become so depraved, the only solution left to a just God when these people are fully ripe, is to protect his covenant people while the wicked destroy themselves.

We now stand on the leading edge of this last iteration. Peace is being taken from the earth and “the devil shall have power over his own dominion” (D&C 1:35). The secret combinations that rule the world are waring over the abundance of the earth while a global alliance seeks power and control over our lives.

Why did we agree to come to this world at this time? It wasn’t for Facebook.

One thing that gives me comfort is knowing that God presented me the opportunity to come down when I did, explained to me the challenges and opportunities to be on the earth at this time when amazing things will happen preceding and including the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, and I accepted that opportunity. I am grateful to be here when countless prophets and saints of past dispensations longed for this day, a day of the destruction of the wicked and the reign of Jesus Christ personally upon the earth.

It gives me comfort knowing that the earth was seeded with 144,000 special messengers who may also have been pulled from the pool of “great and noble ones” Abraham saw (Abraham 3:22-23). Individuals to be endowed with power to perform miraculous things as directed by the spirit as part of the final gathering of Israel.

As the world falls into greater chaos, the awakening of Zion will take place to stir our hearts to leave Babylon and embrace Zion which will become the only people not at war with others (D&C 45:69).

If we want the gift of peace in our lives, we have to obey the law that governs that gift. To receive that gift, we have to be at peace. I know that seems like a chicken and egg problem, but literally, many of the gifts of the Spirit have laws that govern them which are directly related to them. The gift of healing is based on the idea that you are commanding elements to behave in a certain way. To receive this power, we must also behave obediently to God to in turn receive the power that other elements will obey and respect our gift of healing.

To receive peace, is to have mastery over yourself. As you tame your chaos, your influence will spread from yourself, to your family and friends, and then outward in ways the Lord wants you to operate. Pray for peace, and get peace in your heart, then be a peacemaker.

Seek understanding from the Lord and a testimony that you are in the right place at the right time doing the right things. If you are, then you can expect the miracles to take place to transform you into a Zion person who will eventually live in Zion.

Moses 7:18. And the Lord called his people Zion, because they were of one heart and one mind, and dwelt in righteousness; and there was no poor among them.

Don’t despair tribulation, it is your catalyst to peace as you learn to control the emotions that seek to control you.
