While listening Jeremiah 51 this week, I was struck when I heard, “And I will punish Bel in Babylon” (verse 44). It hit me that there was a chapter in the Apocrypha that is called Bel and the Dragon. I immediately went and started reading from it to see how it tied together as I have never read the Apocrypha completely and am largely ignorant of it. What I discovered was fascinating regarding Daniel, and Habakkuk, a prophet of whom we know very little. Here is the story.
